Donnerstag, 2. Mai 2024 – Santiago de Compostela<\/h3>\n

Heute steht Santiago de Compostela auf dem Plan, der Zielpunkt aller Jakobswege, die hier „Camino“ hei\u00dfen. Die Altstadt fehlt in keinem Reisef\u00fchrer. Ich bin gespannt, was die Stadt beitet … au\u00dfer Regen.<\/p>\n

Wir stehen auf und es regnet es in Str\u00f6men. Gegen\u00fcber vom Hotel ist eine Schule. Es ist gerade Pause und die Kids spielen im Regen Fu\u00dfball auf dem Pausenhof. Regen ist hier kein Hinderungsgrund. Es sollte uns eigentlich ein Vorbild sein. Eigentlich. Wir warten trotzdem bis es aufh\u00f6rt.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Today, Santiago de Compostela is on the agenda, the destination of all the Camino de Santiago routes. The old town is not missing from any travel guide. I’m curious to see what the city has to offer … apart from rain.<\/span><\/p>\n

We get up and it’s pouring with rain. There’s a school opposite the hotel. It’s break time and the kids are playing soccer in the playground in the rain. Rain is no obstacle here. It should actually be a role model for us. Actually. Nevertheless, we wait until it stops.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

Wir kommen bis zur Kreuzung, ins Caf\u00e9 Tertulia<\/em>, dann f\u00e4ngt der Regen wieder an. Und unsere Regenschirme sind ja in Porto, in dem chinesischen Restaurant. Das k\u00f6nnte ein Tag mit vielen Unterbrechungen werden. Jetzt aber erst einmal einen Kaffee.<\/p>\n

Der Tag war ein voller Erfolg, trotz Regen. Wir haben alles wichtige gesehen: Convento de San Francisco de Santiago<\/em>, Catedral de Santiago Compostela<\/em>, Pazo de Raxoi<\/em>, Praza do Obradoiro<\/em>, Praza de Fonseca<\/em>, …<\/p>\n

In einem der Souvenirl\u00e4den in der\u00a0 Rua de San Francisco finden wir einfache Regenschirme f\u00fcr einen fairen Preis. Die kleinen verwinkelten Stra\u00dfen und Gassen sind sowie das Beste an Santiago. Sie sind pittoresk und bieten immer wieder kleine L\u00e4den, Bars und Restaurants.<\/p>\n<\/div>

We get as far as the crossroads, into Caf\u00e9 Tertulia, then the rain starts again. And our umbrellas are in Porto, in the Chinese restaurant. This could be a day with lots of interruptions. But first a coffee.<\/span><\/p>\n

The day was a complete success, despite the rain. We saw everything important: Convento de San Francisco de Santiago, Catedral de Santiago Compostela, Pazo de Raxoi, Praza do Obradoiro, Praza de Fonseca, …<\/span><\/p>\n

We find simple umbrellas for a fair price in one of the souvenir stores in the Rua de San Francisco. The small winding streets and alleyways are one of the best things about Santiago. They are picturesque and always offer small stores, bars and restaurants.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

Die ganzen Touristen nerven nat\u00fcrlich. Aber dieser Dudelsackspieler in dem Durchgang an der Praza do Obradoiro geht wir wirklich auf den (Dudel)Sack. Bei den vielen Details und dem ein oder anderen Stopp f\u00fcr ein Glas Wein vergessen wir die Zeit.<\/p>\n

Abendessen nehmen wir im Restaurant A Moa<\/a> ein. Meine erste Idee war das Casa de Xantar O Dezaseis. Aber die Schlange vor der T\u00fcr verhei\u00dft nichts Gutes. Also ab ins A Moa. Hier \u00f6ffnet die K\u00fcche erst in 20 Minuten. Zeit genug f\u00fcr einen Wein. Das Essen ist wie erwartet genial. Frischer Tintenfisch als Vorspiese. Dann den Fisch des Tages als Hauptgang; und Eis zum Nachtisch; dazu Wein.<\/p>\n

All the tourists are annoying, of course. But this bagpipe player in the passageway at the Praza do Obradoiro really gets on our (bagpipe) nerves. With all the details and the odd stop for a glass of wine, we forget the time.<\/span><\/p>\n

We have dinner at the restaurant A Moa. My first idea was the Casa de Xantar O Dezaseis. But the queue outside the door didn’t bode well. So off we go to A Moa. The kitchen doesn’t open for another 20 minutes. Enough time for a glass of wine. As expected, the food is brilliant. Fresh squid as a starter.
